Meet The Founder - Alexandra Hotelier

After graduating from a business degree at University, I decided to chase my childhood dream of working in luxury fashion. It took me two months to release all the red flags in the industry and nine months to officially quite.  Witnessing first handedly how a renowned brand dealt with surplus inventory and back-of-house product management was something I did not want to contribute or associate myself with.

Seeing this day after day planted a seed in my head which motivated me to create Boutique Kaotique in 2018 in London - as sustainable fashion brand. Sustainability and fashion are two worlds that are very tricky to put together and that I do not use lightlyWhat I mean by this is that we can only control the things that happen in our supply chain i.e. working with the right product suppliers, making sure labor costs are fair, using the right dye for our prints, having no inventory left unsold, and using biodegradable packaging.  What we cannot control is anything that happens to the t-shirt after it has been bought - our hope is that if someone spends £65 on a t-shirt it is because they really love it and have no intention of throwing it away anytime soon.

Bottomline - I wanted to build a company where waste wouldn’t be a problem. We live in a world overflowing with excess— I didn’t want to contribute to that. BoKa prides itself on a business model which focuses on using only organic materials, biodegradable packaging, and a made-to-order system which ensures that no stock goes unsold.

I want to sell a meaningful story before a product, and I hope that is what people see in each and every one of our pieces.
